We are trying to solve the problem of people in dry places not having any water to drink nearby. Water is essential for people, so without water people cannot survive. There are about 663 million people around the world that don’t have water or have very minimal water to drink (Water.org).
Our competitors are WarkaWater and WaterGen. Warka Water is using condensation to solve this problem by using mesh to collect the water vapor. The water vapor will condense into water droplets and fall down into a storage tank. We think they are doing alright, because it does it’s job pretty well and collects enough water, but some flaws are that dust can get into water, and the structure costs $1000 per unit.
Our solution uses condensation to generate water. We use a plastic mesh to generate the water. This is supported by bamboo stakes and wire that circles around bamboo. The water is collected into a funnel and is then filtered though sedimentation. The water is stored in a tank and can be released through a spigot. Our product will be much smaller than WarkaWater's, but since we are using a fan to draw in air, it will still collect a decent amount of water.
